While the FaderPort provides a Mackie Control Universal (MCU) mode,
- Ardour's Mackie control-surface does not support various elements
- available on the FP8. e.g. colored buttons, and the custom mode
- scribble strips.

<li><strong>Touch-Sensitive Fader</strong> The fader can be used to control
volume levels, aux send levels, panning, or plugin parameters, depending
on the fader-mode (see above).</li>
- <li><strong>Mute</strong> toggles the mute-control of the corresponding mixer-strip. Mute engages on press, and disengages on release. Press and hold the button for at least 500ms for momentary.</li>
