   7   Ardour splits its configuration options into two categories:

  11     Global <dfn>preferences</dfn> control general workflow and system
  12     configuration, and should apply to all sessions. They are located in
  13     <kbd class="menu">Edit &gt; Preferences</kbd> and stored in
  14     Ardour's <dfn>user configuration file</dfn> in your home directory.
  15   </li>
  16   <li><dfn>Session properties</dfn> control aspects of the workflow or
  17     configuration that pertain to the current session only. You can find them
  18     in <kbd class="menu">Session &gt; Properties</kbd>, and they will be stored
  19     in the session file.
