86 <h2>How do I install plugins?</h2>
91 <dfn>Installation</dfn> will vary a little depending on how you get plugins. If
92 your repository has a particular plugin package, just install it using
93 the normal software package management tool for your system. Most
94 Linux distributions that are good for audio work will have most of
95 the LADSPA and LV2 plugins mentioned above available in ready-to-use
99 Finding them will typically require <em>searching</em> your
100 distribution's repository to find the name of the package. The tools
101 for doing this vary from distribution to distribution. A good place
102 to start searching is with the name of the package (e.g. "caps" or
103 "calf"). There are no fixed rules about what different Linux
104 distributions call their packages for a given set of plugins.
107 If the package isn't available, then you can build the plugins from
108 source (plugins are generally fairly easy to compile if you've ever

112 LADSPA plugins are shared library files. They need to be installed
